The Dahua DHI-NVR5432-EI is a 32-channel WizSense network video recorder built for larger sites that need serious storage and on-board intelligence. It takes IP cameras up to 32MP, outputs to dual 4K-capable HDMI displays, and runs AI analytics — including face detection and recognition, SMD Plus and perimeter protection — directly on the recorder without extra licensing.
Who is it for?
An NVR receives, records and manages footage from networked IP cameras, giving you central storage, playback and remote viewing across a whole site. What you will need
- Surveillance-grade hard drives — the DHI-NVR5432-EI ships without HDDs, and supports up to 4 drives at up to 20TB each
- This is a standard (non-PoE) recorder, so IP cameras are powered separately — pair it with a PoE switch to power and cable your cameras
- An HDMI or VGA monitor for initial setup and local live viewing

Does the DHI-NVR5432-EI have built-in PoE ports to power cameras?
No — this is a standard NVR without on-board PoE. Power and network your cameras through a separate PoE switch, then connect the switch to the NVR.
Is there a monthly fee for the AI features or mobile viewing?
No. Face detection and recognition, SMD Plus and perimeter protection all run locally on the recorder, and remote viewing via the DMSS app carries no subscription cost.
Will the DHI-NVR5432-EI work with cameras from other brands?
Yes. It supports ONVIF (Profile S, T, G and M) alongside native compatibility with Panasonic, Sony, Axis, Arecont, Pelco, Canon and Hanwha cameras.
