Common questions
How many cameras can the DHI-NVR5232-16P-EI2 record?
It has 32 audio and video access channels, so it records up to 32 IP cameras. Dahua lists support for cameras up to 32MP.
Can I connect 32 cameras if there are only 16 PoE ports?
The recorder has 32 channels but 16 PoE ports (ports 1-8 support ePoE), so 16 PoE cameras connect straight to it. The other channels need cameras connected over the network, for example through a PoE switch.
What does WizSense mean?
WizSense is Dahua's AI range. Dahua says it uses an independent AI chip and deep learning algorithms and focuses on human and vehicle detection. Read our WizSense guide for more.
What AI does the recorder run itself?
By recorder: 4-channel face detection and recognition, 4-channel video metadata, 8-channel perimeter protection, 16-channel SMD Plus and 4-channel AcuPick. ANPR, people counting, heat map and PPE detection are done by the camera, so they need compatible cameras.
How much storage can it take?
It has 2 SATA ports, each taking a disk up to 26 TB, and Dahua lists iSCSI access to remote storage devices.
Can it record cameras from other brands?
Dahua lists ONVIF (Profile T, S, G and M) and access for Panasonic, Sony, Axis, Arecont, Pelco, Canon and Hanwha cameras.
