The Dahua DHI-NVR5864-XI/Pro is a 64 channel network video recorder from Dahua's WizMind NVR series, in a 2U case with eight SATA bays, each taking up to 26TB, and support for RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10. It is aimed at large multi-camera sites where RAID is wanted so that recordings survive a failed disk.

It records IP cameras up to 32MP, with 512 Mbps incoming bandwidth when AI is off and 200 Mbps with AI on. With AI off it decodes up to 40 channels of 1080p at 30fps, and the main screen can show up to 64 cameras at once. Two HDMI outputs up to 7680 x 4320 and two VGA outputs are fitted, along with an eSATA port, iSCSI support and two gigabit network ports.

WizSeek natural-language search and text-defined alarms come from Dahua's Xinghan large-scale AI models. With those models on, the recorder handles 8 channels each of face recognition, video metadata and AcuPick, while AcuPick by camera works on all channels. It has 64 camera channels and supports IP cameras up to 32MP. Maximum bandwidth is 512 Mbps incoming, 512 Mbps recording and 384 Mbps outgoing with AI disabled, and 200 Mbps each way with AI enabled.

Which AI functions run on the recorder itself?

AI by recorder covers 8-channel face detection and recognition, 8-channel video metadata, 8-channel AcuPick and 16-channel perimeter protection (with the Xinghan AI models enabled; with them disabled the datasheet lists 16 channels for face, metadata and AcuPick and 32 for perimeter protection).

Does it support RAID?

Yes. The datasheet lists RAID 0/1/5/6/10 across the 8 SATA ports, with each disk up to 26 TB (the limit varies with environment temperature). Use the Hard Drive option on this page to order this NVR with hard drive, or choose the recorder only.

Does it have PoE ports?

The datasheet lists two RJ-45 10/100/1000 Mbps network ports and no PoE ports, so connect cameras through a network switch. For PoE cameras use a PoE switch.

Does it output 8K?

Yes. The HDMI outputs support up to 7680 x 4320 (8K), alongside 2 VGA outputs up to 1920 x 1080.

Does it work with other camera brands?

Dahua lists ONVIF 25.06 (Profile T, S, G and M) and third-party camera access for Panasonic, Sony, Axis, Arecont, Pelco, Canon and Hanwha.

Can it check number plates?

Yes, with ANPR cameras. Dahua lists ANPR by camera on all channels, and a plate database of up to 20,000 numbers with a blocklist and an allowlist.

What alarm connections does it have?

It has 16 alarm inputs and 8 alarm outputs, one of which is a 12 V 1 A output.
