The Dahua ASI2201H-W (Dahua's datasheet lists it as DHI-ASI2201H-W) is a Wi-Fi standalone access control terminal and access controller with a 2.4 inch LCD screen. It unlocks by card, remote command or password, or by combinations of these, and stores 30,000 users, 30,000 cards, 30,000 passwords and 150,000 unlock records. It can switch between reader mode and controller mode, and is rated IP65 for indoor and outdoor use.

Common questions

Is the ASI2201H-W a card reader or an access controller?

Both. Dahua describes it as an access controller with an LCD screen, and it has an option to switch between reader mode and controller mode. It can also take one peripheral RS-485 card reader and one Wiegand card reader.

Can it run a door on its own?

It has one lock control output, one exit button input and one door status detection input, so a single door can be operated from the terminal with a lock and power supply wired to it.

Can it be used as a door controller or an access control reader?

Yes. In controller mode it works as a door controller with one lock control output, one exit button input and one door status detection input, which makes it a compact door access control unit for a single door, with wireless access control over Wi-Fi. Yes. It supports TCP/IP and Wi-Fi communication, with auto registration, P2P registration and DHCP, and it also has a 100 Mbps RJ-45 network port.
