The Dahua DH-IPC-HDW2649TMP-S-PV-0280B is a 6MP eyeball network camera with a fixed 2.8mm lens, built-in microphone and speaker, and a warm-light illuminator that doubles as an active deterrent. SMD Plus and perimeter protection (IVS) filter out false alarms by classifying human and vehicle targets, and the camera streams over PoE for a single-cable install.

Will this work with a non-Dahua NVR?

Yes — the camera supports ONVIF (Profile S, Profile G and Profile T), so it can be added to most third-party NVR/VMS systems, though some Dahua-specific features may only be available on a Dahua recorder.

Does it need a separate power supply?

No — if your NVR or switch supplies PoE the camera is powered over the same Cat5e/Cat6 cable as the video feed. It can also run from a separate 12VDC supply if PoE isn't available.

How much storage will I need?

Storage depends on resolution, frame rate and how much motion the scene contains; as a guide, size your NVR's hard drive around continuous 6MP recording at your chosen retention period, or use motion/event recording to reduce usage.
