Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5241EP-ZE-27135 - 2MP 1080p AI Motorised Varifocal Bullet PoE IP CCTV Camera

Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5241EP-ZE-27135 — 2MP Bullet IP Camera

The Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5241EP-ZE-27135 is a 2MP AI bullet network camera fitted with a motorised vari-focal lens, giving installers on-site control over field of view without changing the lens. AI-ISP processing and Dahua's AcuPick 2.0 search support precise identification of people, vehicles and animals across more than 8 AI-driven detection functions, while a built-in microphone adds real-time audio capture. The IP67 and IK10 rated housing means it copes with outdoor weather and physical knocks alike.

Also listed as IPC-HFW5241EP-ZE-27135. Dahua lists the camera family as DH-IPC-HFW5241E-ZE.

Who is it for?

IP cameras carry video and PoE power over one Cat5e/Cat6 cable to a PoE NVR — ideal when cabling from scratch or wanting resolutions/analytics beyond coax. The HFW5241EP-ZE suits perimeter and general site coverage where a fixed bullet form factor and adjustable zoom are useful — car parks, yards, loading bays and building exteriors. Its AI analytics and vari-focal lens make it a good fit for small-to-medium sites that want smarter alerts without stepping up to a PTZ. With an IP67 and IK10 housing it works as a waterproof camera and outdoor security camera, and its AI-ISP image processing makes it a smart camera.

Key specification

What you will need

• A PoE NVR that supports 2MP recording, with enough channels and storage for your camera count
• Cat5e or Cat6 cabling from each camera back to the NVR (or a PoE switch if you're running longer distances or need to branch the network out to multiple cameras)
• Clear GDPR signage where the camera covers public areas, footpaths or neighbouring property

Frequently asked questions

Will this camera work with a non-Dahua NVR?

Yes — it supports ONVIF, so it will connect to most third-party NVRs as well as Dahua recorders, though some Dahua-specific AI features are only available with a Dahua NVR. As an ONVIF camera it can also be added to other ONVIF-compatible recorders.

Does it need a separate power supply?

No, if connected to a PoE NVR or PoE switch a single Cat5e/Cat6 cable supplies both power and data. A separate 12V DC power supply can be used instead where PoE isn't available.

How much storage will I need?

Storage depends on resolution, frame rate, compression and how many cameras are recording continuously — as a guide, a single 2MP camera recording continuously typically needs a few GB per day, so size your NVR's hard drive around your camera count and retention period.

Can I adjust the field of view after installation?

Yes — the motorised vari-focal lens can be adjusted remotely from the NVR or client software, so you don't need to physically refocus the camera on site.
