Common questions
What does the DHI-ARA13-W2(868B)-Blue siren do?
It is the sound and light alarm output of a Dahua wireless alarm system. When it receives an alarm signal it triggers its sound and light alarm: one of its alarm sounds (fire, medical, intrusion, panic and more) at up to 110 dB(A) with 12 alarm LED groups.
Can it be fitted outdoors?
Yes. Dahua lists the scenario as outdoor and indoor, with IP65 protection, an operating temperature of -25 °C to +60 °C and wall mounting.
How loud is it?
Dahua gives 110 dB(A) at volume high, and 95.2 dB(A) at 1 metre measured in an anechoic chamber.
How is it powered and how long do the batteries last?
It runs on 4 x CR123A batteries or a 9-15 VDC supply and reports low battery. Dahua rates 4 CR123A batteries at 3.4 years if the siren is triggered fortnightly and sounds for 120 s each time, at 80% battery efficiency.
How far does the wireless signal reach?
Up to 1,600 m in an open space, using two-way 868MHz communication with frequency hopping and AES-128 encryption.
What is the difference between the Blue, Orange and Red versions?
Dahua's datasheet lists one siren, DHI-ARA13-W2(868), and does not describe colour versions, so the specification on this page is Dahua's for that siren. This listing is the Blue version (868B). If the colour matters for your installation, call us on 01902 902251 before ordering.
