Dahua DHI-ARC3800H-FW2(868) — 4G Wireless Alarm System Hub

The Dahua DHI-ARC3800H-FW2(868) is a 4G wireless alarm hub, which Dahua calls Wireless Alarm Hub 2, and the alarm control panel, or control unit, of a Dahua wireless intruder alarm system. It manages the wireless alarm devices in the system, connects by Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G, and notifies the alarm receiving centre and the DMSS or DoLynk Care mobile app when an alarm is triggered, sending video from PIR cameras and IP cameras.

Also listed as ARC3800H-FW2(868).

Key features

Ethernet, Wi-Fi and 4G connections with multi-network redundancy, plus dual SIM slots (one SIM active at a time).
Up to 150 peripherals across 32 areas, including up to 64 keyfobs, 8 keypads, 6 sirens (4 of them intercom sirens) and 64 PIR cameras.
Alarm video verification: up to 8 IP cameras on the same LAN (alarm video upload only), in-hub pre-recording so the camera does not need an SD card, and images sent from PIR cameras to the hub.
Two-way voice intercom with intercom sirens, voice call alarm and SMS alarm.
868.0-868.6 MHz two-way wireless with frequency hopping and AES128 encryption, up to 2,000 m in open space.
Built-in 4,750 mAh rechargeable lithium battery, up to 12 hours standby under the conditions Dahua states, from a 100-240 VAC supply.
Arm and disarm from the app, keypad, remote control, card or a schedule; alarm transmission by SIA or SoftGuard; cloud update.

Common questions

How does the DHI-ARC3800H-FW2(868) connect to the internet?

By a 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 Ethernet port, Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) or a cellular connection, with multi-network redundancy across Ethernet, Wi-Fi and 4G. The hub supports two SIM cards, but only one can be enabled at a time. Dahua also lists 2G GSM 1,800/900 MHz among the cellular bands, so the hub can send alarms over a SIM card as a GSM alarm system, as well as over 4G, Ethernet and Wi-Fi.

How many devices can it manage?

Up to 150 peripherals across 32 areas, including up to 64 keyfobs, 8 keypads, 6 sirens (4 intercom sirens) and 64 PIR cameras. It works at 868 MHz, so choose peripherals made for the 868 MHz version.

Can it work with IP cameras?

Yes. It accepts up to 8 IP cameras on the same LAN. The video input is for alarm video upload only, and in-hub pre-recording means the camera does not need an SD card.

What happens if mains power fails?

The built-in 4,750 mAh rechargeable battery keeps the hub running. Dahua rates it for up to 12 hours when fully charged, with Wi-Fi connected, a 1,800 second heartbeat, 8 peripherals and the cloud connected.

How does it send alarms?

To the DMSS or DoLynk Care mobile app, to an alarm receiving centre using SIA or SoftGuard, and by voice call alarm and SMS alarm.

Is the DHI-ARC3800H-FW2(868) an intruder alarm panel?

It is the alarm control panel of a Dahua 868 MHz wireless intruder alarm system. Dahua lists EN 50131-1 and EN 50131-3 with Security Grade 2 for it.

Which standards does Dahua list for this hub?

Dahua lists CE, EN 50131-1, EN 50131-3, EN 50131-6, EN 50131-5-3, EN 50131-10 and EN 50136-2, with Security Grade 2, Environmental Class II and ATS category SP2/DP2.
