Product Description

Product Specifications

Dahua DHI-ARD1731-W2(868) — AirShield Wireless PIR Camera

The Dahua DHI-ARD1731-W2(868) is an AirShield wireless PIR camera and wireless PIR detector: a PIR motion detector and motion sensor with camera, with a built-in 2MP CMOS image sensor. When it detects an intrusion it takes HD snapshots, up to 1600 × 1200, and sends them to the alarm hub, then on to the mobile app or alarm centre (CMS/ARC), so the alarm can be checked visually. It only takes snapshots when an intrusion occurs, which protects privacy. This is the 868MHz model.

Also listed as ARD1731-W2(868).

Key features

Built-in 2MP CMOS image sensor takes HD snapshots when an intrusion is detected, at up to 1600 × 1200.
RF-HD (2.4G) image transmission: 6 HD images at 1600 × 1200 take up to 10 seconds.
Takes snapshots only when an intrusion occurs, to protect privacy; one-week cloud cache for videos and images.
Wireless motion sensor with PIR detection: 12m (86°) at 2.2m installation height, 3 sensitivity levels, pet immunity 18kg.
Infrared illumination to 12m, with a colour and black and white day-night switch.
Temperature monitoring, tamper alarm and signal tests (RF and RF-HD).
Two-way communication and frequency hopping on 868MHz, up to 1,600m in open space.
Suitable for the ARC3000H series and ARC3800H series only, excluding the ARA43 series.

Common questions

What does the PIR camera send when it triggers?

Its built-in 2MP camera captures HD snapshots when it detects an intrusion and sends them to the alarm hub, which passes them to the mobile app or alarm centre (CMS/ARC) for visual alarm verification.

Does it record video all the time?

No. Dahua says it only takes snapshots when an intrusion occurs, which protects privacy.

Which alarm hubs does it work with?

Dahua says it is suitable for the ARC3000H series and ARC3800H series only, excluding the ARA43 series. Hubs we list are above.

How long does the battery last?

It takes 3 CR123A batteries and Dahua quotes 4 years if it is triggered twice a week with a battery efficiency of 70%.

Does it measure temperature?

Yes. Dahua lists temperature monitoring and two-way digital temperature compensation.

Can it see in the dark?

It has infrared illumination to 12m and a colour and black and white day-night switch.

Is there a 433MHz version?

Yes. This is the 868MHz model. The 433MHz model is the Dahua DHI-ARD1731-W2, so check the frequency of your hub.
