The Dahua ASR2200A is a slim, water-proof IC card and password reader designed to sit at the door and identify credentials before passing them to a separate access controller. It reads Mifare Classic 1K cards at 13.56MHz and also accepts a password via its keypad, communicating over RS-485 or Wiegand 34.

This is a reader, not a standalone controller: it recognises the card or code presented at the door and passes that data on to an access control panel, which makes the actual lock/unlock decision.
