Dahua DH-HAC-HFW1500TP-A 5MP HDCVI Starlight Infrared Bullet CCTV Camera

Dahua DH-HAC-HFW1500TP-A-0280B-S2 — 5MP 3K HDCVI Starlight IR Bullet CCTV Camera

The Dahua DH-HAC-HFW1500TP-A-0280B-S2 is a 5MP 3K HDCVI Starlight IR bullet CCTV camera from Dahua's Lite series, with a 2.8mm fixed lens, a built-in microphone (the -A in the model name), Smart IR night vision up to 30m and an IP67 metal casing. Its maximum output is 2880 × 1620, which is the 3K size at 5MP. HDCVI sends HD video, and audio on this model, over standard coax, so Dahua positions it for upgrading an existing analogue system without replacing the coaxial cabling.

Key features

• 5MP (2880 × 1620, 16:9) at up to 25 fps over CVI from a 1/2.7 inch CMOS sensor.
• CVI, TVI, AHD and CVBS output, switchable through the OSD menu (CVI 5MP, AHD and TVI 4MP, CVBS 960H).
• Starlight low-light performance: 0.005 lux at F1.6, and 0 lux with the IR on.
• Smart IR up to 30m adjusts the IR intensity to the distance of the object, so close subjects are not overexposed.
• Built-in microphone (-A model).
• IP67, working temperature -40 °C to +60 °C, 4kV lightning rating and ±30% input voltage tolerance.
• Up to 700 m over coax for 5MP HD video, or 300 m over UTP cable, in Dahua laboratory tests.
• OSD menu in 11 languages.

Works with

• The full 5MP CVI signal needs a recorder that supports 5MP HDCVI input, so check the recorder's datasheet. See our range of DVRs and XVRs.
• Dahua DH-PFA130-E IP66 junction box and Dahua DH-PFA152-E pole mount, both listed by Dahua as accessories for this camera.
• Dahua DH-PFM800-4K passive video balun (pair) for the coax run, listed by Dahua as a passive HDCVI balun.
• Dahua DH-PFM904 portable camera tester, listed by Dahua as an optional accessory.

Common questions

What does HDCVI mean?

HDCVI is Dahua's way of sending HD video over standard coax cable, so an analogue system can be upgraded without rewiring. See our guide to Dahua HDCVI cameras.

Is it a 3K camera?

Its maximum output is 5MP at 2880 × 1620 (16:9), up to 25 fps over CVI. Over AHD and TVI the maximum is 4MP.

Which recorder does it need?

For the full 5MP CVI signal the recorder must support 5MP HDCVI input, so check the recorder's datasheet; our Penta-brid recorder guide explains the options. Dahua says the four output formats can be switched through the OSD menu, which makes the camera compatible with most existing HD and SD DVRs.

Does it have a microphone?

Yes. The -A in the model name means a built-in microphone, and Dahua lists one channel of built-in microphone.

How far can I run the cable?

Dahua says up to 700 m for 5MP HD video over coax and up to 300 m over UTP cable, based on its own laboratory testing.

How does it see at night?

It is an infrared camera: it has Smart IR with a distance of up to 30 m and a minimum illumination of 0.005 lux, or 0 lux with the IR on. Our guide to Dahua Starlight low-light cameras explains the low-light sensor.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. It is rated IP67, protected against water and dust, and Dahua lists a working temperature of -40 °C to +60 °C.
