Dahua DH-IPC-HDBW3649EP-AS-IL-0280B — 6MP 3K WizSense AI IP CCTV Dome Camera

The Dahua DH-IPC-HDBW3649EP-AS-IL-0280B is a 6MP WizSense AI IP CCTV dome camera with a fixed 2.8mm lens, built for outdoor use. Smart Dual Light keeps the camera on IR night vision until a target is detected, then switches on the warm light for colour video, up to 30m on this lens. WizSense deep learning classifies people and vehicles, the metal housing is IP67 waterproof and IK10 vandal-resistant, and it is powered by PoE (802.3af) or 12V DC. Our guide to Dahua WizSense cameras explains WizSense and our guide to Dahua Smart Dual Light cameras explains Smart Dual Light.

Common questions

What does WizSense mean?

Dahua says WizSense is its series of AI products using an independent AI chip and deep learning, focused on human and vehicle detection. See our guide to Dahua WizSense cameras.

Does it record in colour at night?

Yes. With Smart Dual Light the IR illuminator is normally on at night, and when a target appears the white light comes on so the camera records full-colour video, then it switches back to IR. On this 2.8mm lens both reach 30m. See our guide to Dahua Smart Dual Light cameras.

Is it vandal-resistant?

The metal housing is rated IK10 for impact: Dahua says it can take more than 5 punches from a 5 kg hammer falling from 40 cm (20 J). It is IP67 rated against dust and water.

How is it powered?

From PoE (802.3af) or 12V DC (±30%). Dahua says that if the power adapter and PoE are connected at the same time, one of them should be disconnected.

Will it work with a non-Dahua NVR?

It supports ONVIF Profile S, G, T and M, so it can be added to recorders and software that support ONVIF. Dahua says Smart Search works together with a Dahua Smart NVR.

Does it have a microphone?

Yes. Dahua lists a built-in microphone, and the audio is compressed as PCM, G.711a, G.711Mu, G.726 or G.723.

Is there a 3.6mm version?

Dahua lists the IPC-HDBW3649E-AS-IL with 2.8 mm and 3.6 mm lenses. This listing is the 2.8mm version, which gives the wider 110° view; the 3.6mm gives 86° and 40m of IR and warm light.
