Common questions
What does WizMind mean?
Dahua describes WizMind as a full portfolio of project-oriented products (IP cameras, NVRs, PTZ, XVR, thermal and a software platform) that use deep learning algorithms. This camera is part of the WizMind 5 Series. See our WizMind guide.
How does the full-colour night image work?
Dahua fits two warm supplemental LED lights that give a colourful and vivid image even in total darkness. By default the camera is set to smart light mode, and the sensitivity and intensity of the LED lights can be controlled remotely from the OSD menu.
Is it a Starlight camera?
Dahua lists Full-color Starlight for this camera: an F1.6 large aperture lens and a 1/1.8" sensor for low-light performance. See our Starlight guide.
Can it count people and detect faces?
Yes. Dahua lists people counting (enter, leave and pass numbers; in-area counting and queue management, each with four rules) and face detection, plus perimeter protection that classifies humans and vehicles.
Which lens does it have?
Dahua lists 2.8 mm, 3.6 mm and 6.0 mm focal lengths for this model. The 2.8 mm version is listed separately as DH-IPC-HDW5442TMP-AS-LED-0280B. Please contact us to confirm the lens before ordering.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. It is rated IP67 and Dahua lists an operating temperature of -40 °C to +60 °C, so it can be mounted outdoors. The two warm LED lights reach up to 20 m for full-colour night vision.
Does it need a separate power supply?
It runs on 12 VDC (±30%) or PoE (802.3af). A PoE switch can power it over the network cable.
Will it work with a recorder that is not Dahua?
It supports ONVIF Profile S, G and T, so it can be added to compatible third-party recorders. See our NVRs.
