The Dahua DH-IPC-EBW8842P-AS is an 8MP WizMind AI fisheye IP CCTV camera with a 1.85mm lens, built-in IR and a built-in microphone and speaker. One ceiling-mounted camera covers a wide area: Dahua says its fisheye cameras can realize 360° surveillance, and this model adds front-dewarp and back-dewarp display modes, people counting and a heat map. With IP67 and IK10 protection and an operating temperature of -40 °C to +60 °C, it can be used as a waterproof outdoor security camera, and its built-in infrared (IR) LEDs give night vision up to 10 m.

How much can one fisheye camera see?
The 1.85 mm lens gives a 185° horizontal and 180° vertical field of view. Dahua lists ceiling, wall and ground mounting, and says its fisheye cameras can realize 360° surveillance.
What is the difference between front-dewarp and back-dewarp?
Front-dewarp uses the camera's own hardware decoding and can output dewarped streams, which makes it easier to connect to back-end or third-party platforms. Back-dewarp uses software decoding in the viewing software and adds modes such as 360° panoramic view plus PTZ.
Can it count people?
Yes. Dahua lists people counting with 4 rules for people entering, exiting and staying, and in-area counting that triggers alarm linkage when a threshold is exceeded. Reports can be displayed and exported by year, month, week, day or custom time. A heat map shows crowd density.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. Dahua lists IP67 protection (dust-proof, works after 30 minutes soaked in 1 m of water), IK10 impact protection and an operating temperature of -40 °C to +60 °C, so it can be mounted outdoors. Three built-in IR LEDs reach up to 10 m for night vision.
Does it need a separate power supply?
It runs on 12 VDC or PoE (basic 6.1 W and maximum 13.9 W on PoE). A PoE switch can power it over the network cable.
Will it work with a recorder that is not Dahua?
