The Dahua DH-IPC-EBW8842P-AS is an 8MP vandal-proof IR fisheye network camera built around a 1/1.7" CMOS sensor for strong low-light performance. Its 1.85mm fixed lens gives a full 185° horizontal / 180° vertical panoramic view, with front and back dewarp so a single camera can cover open areas that would otherwise need several fixed-lens units.

Who is it for?

IP cameras carry video and PoE power over one Cat5e/Cat6 cable to a PoE NVR — ideal when cabling from scratch or wanting resolutions/analytics beyond coax. The wide 8MP fisheye view and IP67/IK10 rating suit open areas such as retail floors, receptions, warehouses and car parks where a single ceiling- or wall-mounted camera needs to replace several fixed units, including exposed or vandal-prone outdoor spots. Built-in people counting and heat map tools also give retail and facilities teams footfall data without extra hardware.

Frequently asked questions

Will this camera work with a non-Dahua NVR?

Yes. It supports ONVIF (Profile S, Profile G and Profile T), so it can be added to most third-party NVR and VMS platforms, though some Dahua-specific features such as people-counting reports may only be available with Dahua recording software.

Does it need a separate power supply?

No — it can be powered over the network cable from a PoE switch or PoE NVR, or via a separate 12VDC supply if PoE is not available.

How much storage will I need?

Storage depends on resolution, frame rate, scene activity and how many days of footage you want to keep. As a guide, size your NVR's drive for 8MP recording at your chosen frame rate, or use the camera's own microSD slot (up to 256GB) for local backup.

Can I still get a normal dewarped view on my NVR?

Yes — the camera supports both front-dewarp (hardware) and back-dewarp (software) modes, giving panoramic, quad-view or region views either from the camera itself or on compatible VMS/NVR software.
