The Dahua DH-SDT3E410-8P-MB-A-PV1-0280-Black is a black X-Spans camera that puts a fixed 180 degree panoramic view and a 10x PTZ in one housing. It suits car parks, yards and building frontages where one unit has to watch the whole area and still zoom in on a person or vehicle.

The 8MP overview channel records 5376 x 1520 through a 2.8mm lens, while the 4MP detail channel has a 4-40mm lens covering 58 to 11.3 degrees horizontally. The detail channel's IR reaches up to 70m with white light up to 30m, and the overview channel has 30m IR and 30m white light. Auto Tracking Lite and WizTracking let the PTZ follow a target picked up in the panorama.

Red and blue warning lights and 11 built-in alarm sounds, plus up to 10 custom sounds, give active deterrence. IVS rules include tripwire, intrusion and loitering with human and vehicle classification. It runs on PoE+ (802.3at) or 12V DC, drawing up to 25W, and is IP66 rated with 6000V TVS lightning protection.

Common questions

What does TiOC mean?

TiOC is Dahua's active deterrence range. Dahua lists this camera as a TiOC model, with red and blue warning lights (flash duration 5 s to 30 s) and a sound warning (11 sounds, and 10 custom sounds can be imported). See our TiOC and active deterrence guide.

What does Smart Dual Light do?

The IR illuminator is normally on at night. When a target appears, the white light comes on and the camera records full-colour video. When the target leaves, the white light goes off and the IR returns, which reduces light pollution. See our Smart Dual Light guide.

How do the two channels work together?

The overview channel gives a fixed 180° picture, while the detail channel pans, tilts and zooms 10x. With Auto Tracking Lite, the detail channel follows a target seen by the overview channel. Dahua lists relay tracking and linkage tracking for the X-SPANS series.

How far does the night vision reach?

Dahua lists IR up to 70 m and white light up to 30 m, switching to full-colour video when a target appears.

Is it an outdoor camera?

Yes. Dahua lists IP66 protection, TVS 6000 V lightning, surge and voltage transient protection and an operating range of -30 °C to +60 °C, so it can be mounted outdoors.

Does it use AI?

Yes. Dahua lists SMD 4.0 and Xinghan large-scale AI models, with human and vehicle alarm classification.

How is it powered?

By PoE+ (802.3at) or 12 VDC, 3 A ±10%. Dahua gives a basic power consumption of 12 W and a maximum of 25 W with the illuminator, heating glass, siren, warning light and PTZ all active.

Does it have audio?

Dahua lists one audio input (line in, or the built-in mic) and one audio output (line out, or the built-in speaker). The line and built-in options are mutually exclusive.

Will it work with a non-Dahua recorder?

The detail channel has a 4-40mm lens with 10x optical zoom and 16x digital zoom, narrowing from 58 to 11.3 degrees horizontally.

Does it support presets and tours?

Yes. Dahua lists 300 presets and 8 tours of up to 32 presets each. After an IVS alarm it can also move to up to 5 presets or a scan.

Can it record to a memory card?

Yes. It takes a microSD card up to 512GB, and also supports FTP, SFTP and NAS storage.
