The Dahua DH-SDT4E425-8P-GB-APV1 combines an 8MP 180 degree overview camera and a 4MP PTZ with 25x optical zoom in one housing, from Dahua's X-Spans PTZ Series. The overview channel records 4096 x 1860 through a 2.8mm lens, while the PTZ zooms from 5mm to 125mm, giving 51.9 to 3.0 degrees of horizontal view.

WizTracking and relay tracking let the PTZ follow people and vehicles found in the panorama. Perimeter protection covers tripwire, intrusion, fence crossing, loitering, fast moving, parking and people gathering, with SMD 4.0 and, on the overview channel, AcuPick search. At night the detail channel has IR up to 100m and warm light up to 50m, and the overview channel has 30m of IR and white light.

Active deterrence uses a red and blue warning light and 11 built-in alarm sounds. The camera is IP66 rated with 6000V TVS lightning protection, works from -40 to +65 degrees C, and runs on 12V DC 3A or PoE+ (802.3at), drawing up to 25W.

Who is it for?

This camera suits car parks, yards, building corners, forecourts and open commercial sites where one mounting point needs to watch a wide area and still zoom in for detail. Because the panoramic view keeps recording while the PTZ tracks, you do not lose the overview when the camera zooms.

Common questions

Does it use two NVR channels?

Yes. The 180° overview and the PTZ detail view are separate channels, so allow two channels on your recorder.

How does the tracking work?

The overview channel detects people and vehicles across the whole 180° scene, and the PTZ turns and zooms to follow them (WizTracking and relay tracking) while the panorama keeps recording.

What does TiOC mean on this camera?

How does Smart Dual Light work?

The IR illuminator is normally on at night. When a target appears in the monitoring area the white light comes on and the camera records full-colour video; when the target leaves, the white light goes off and the IR comes back on, which reduces light pollution. How far can it see at night?

What is the difference between the white and black versions?

You choose the housing colour here, white or black. The specification on this page is Dahua's datasheet for DH-SDT4E425-8P-GB-APV1, which does not list a colour.

Is the wall bracket included?

Yes. Dahua lists the PFB305W wall mount bracket as included.

Can it run on PoE+?

Yes. It takes PoE+ (802.3at) or 12V DC 3A. Dahua lists 14W basic and 25W maximum, the maximum being with the illuminators, heater, deterrence and PTZ all working.

How much SD card storage does it support?

A Micro SD card up to 512GB. It can also record to FTP, SFTP or NAS.

Can I upload my own warning sounds?

Yes. As well as 11 built-in alarm sounds, Dahua says up to 10 custom sounds can be imported, and the volume and number of plays can be set.
