Product Description

Product Specifications

Dahua DH-VDKP01 - 2K 4MP Wi-Fi Smart Video Doorbell Camera with Chime Kit

The Dahua DH-VDKP01 is a Wi-Fi video doorbell kit that pairs a 4MP doorbell camera with a mains-powered indoor chime, sold in white (VDKP01-WG) or black (VDKP01-BG). The doorbell records 2560 x 1440 at up to 15fps through a 2.3mm lens, with a 120 degree horizontal and 143 degree diagonal view.

Two IR LEDs give night vision up to 10m, and the doorbell detects humans and vehicles. It has a built-in microphone and speaker, records to a Micro SD card up to 256GB, and works with the Dahua DMSS app on Android and iOS.

The doorbell joins 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n/ax) and pairs by Bluetooth. It runs from USB 5V DC 2A or a binding post supply of 10-24V DC or 14-24V AC, is rated IP65 and works from -20 to +55 degrees C. The chime runs on 100-240V AC.

Also listed as VDKP01, in white (DH-VDKP01-WG, also written VDKP01-WG) or black (DH-VDKP01-BG, also written VDKP01-BG). The doorbell on its own is the Dahua DH-DB41.

Common questions

Is this a door bell camera?

Yes. Whether you call it a video door bell or a security doorbell, the Dahua DH-VDKP01 is a 2K 4MP Wi-Fi video doorbell camera kit with an indoor chime, two-way talk and AI human and vehicle detection.

Is it really 2K?

Yes. The maximum resolution is 2560 x 1440 (4MP), which Dahua calls 2K, at up to 15fps.

Can I use my existing doorbell wiring?

Only if your supply matches Dahua's figures. The doorbell takes USB 5 VDC 2A or a binding post power supply of 10-24 VDC or 14-24 VAC at 1.0A, so check the output of your existing bell supply before ordering. On a binding post supply it can be installed as a wired video doorbell, while the video still travels over Wi-Fi.

Can I talk to visitors from my phone?

Yes. The doorbell has a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way talk, and a one-click call button, with the Dahua DMSS app on Android and iOS.

Where are recordings stored?

On a Micro SD card in the doorbell, up to 256GB.

Can I add more doorbells or chimes?

Yes. Dahua says the chime works with either of its two video doorbell models and can be bound to more than one doorbell, so you can place several chimes around the home.

What Wi-Fi does it need?

2.4 GHz Wi-Fi: it supports IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ax (Wi-Fi 6), with Bluetooth pairing.

How far can it see at night?

Its two IR LEDs give night vision up to 10m.

Is it weatherproof?

The doorbell unit is rated IP65 and works from -20 to +55 degrees C.

Can it detect people and vehicles?

Yes. Dahua lists human detection and vehicle detection, plus motion detection with up to 4 areas.
