The Dahua DH-XVR5108HS-I3(V3.0) is an 8-channel Penta-brid digital video recorder that accepts HDCVI, AHD, TVI and CVBS analogue cameras alongside up to 12 additional IP channels (up to 6MP) on the same box, with H.265+ compression to keep storage use down.

What you will need
- A compatible SATA HDD (up to 16TB) — this recorder does not include a hard drive
- RG59 coax cable plus a separate 12V power supply run to each analogue camera — unlike a PoE NVR, this recorder does not power cameras over the cable
- A monitor or TV with an HDMI or VGA input to view live and recorded footage
Frequently asked questions
Can I mix analogue and IP cameras on this recorder?
Yes. The 8 analogue channels accept HDCVI, AHD, TVI or CVBS cameras in any combination, and up to 12 further IP cameras (up to 6MP) can be added on the same recorder.
Is there a monthly fee to record and store footage?
No. Footage is recorded locally to the hard disk drive fitted in the recorder, so there is no ongoing subscription or cloud storage fee.
Can I add IP cameras later rather than all at once?
Yes. IP channels can be brought online as needed, up to the recorder's maximum of 12, so you can expand the system in stages.
Do I need a licence for the AI functions?
The onboard AI functions (QuickPick 2.0, face recognition, perimeter protection, SMD and AI coding) run on the recorder's own channels as listed above with no separate subscription required.
