Dahua DH-XVR5108HS-I3(V3.0) — 8 Channel 5MP-N 1080P Penta-brid WizSense XVR CCTV DVR

The Dahua DH-XVR5108HS-I3(V3.0) is an 8 channel 5MP-N 1080P Penta-brid WizSense XVR CCTV DVR (digital video recorder) in a Compact 1U case with one hard drive bay. It is a hybrid DVR: one recorder takes HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS and IP cameras, with up to 12 IP channels of up to 6MP, so an existing coax system can be upgraded camera by camera. Our guide to Dahua Penta-brid recorders explains how Penta-brid works.

Also listed as XVR5108HS-I3(V3.0).

Common questions

What does (V3.0) mean?

Dahua's datasheet states that this feature list applies to hardware version 3.0 of the model, so check the exact model before ordering.

Which cameras can I connect?

This CCTV recorder takes HDCVI, AHD, TVI and CVBS cameras on the 8 BNC channels, plus IP cameras: up to 12 IP channels in total (4 by default plus 8 converted analogue channels), each up to 6MP. Our guide to Dahua Penta-brid recorders explains the five formats and our guide to Dahua HDCVI cameras covers HDCVI.

What resolution does it record?

With Encode Enhancement off, channels 1-2 record 5M-N at up to 25 fps and the other channels at up to 12 fps. Channels 1-2 record 4M-N and 1080p at up to 25/30 fps and the others at up to 15 fps. With Encode Enhancement on, channels 1-4 record 5M-N at up to 20 fps.

How do the AI functions work?

Dahua states that face recognition takes effect when Face is selected in AI Mode, perimeter protection when IVS and SMD is selected, SMD Plus when SMD or IVS and SMD is selected, and QuickPick 2.0 when Quick Pick is enabled. Once IP extension is enabled, face recognition, SMD, perimeter protection and QuickPick 2.0 cannot be used. See our guide to Dahua WizSense.

One SATA port, up to 16TB. Dahua notes the maximum capacity varies with environment temperature.

What power supply does it use?

It is powered at 12 VDC, 2A, and uses under 7 W without a hard drive.
