What you will need
- Compatible 3.5" SATA HDD(s) — up to 16TB per bay, 2 bays supported (sold separately)
- RG59 coax cable and a separate 12V power feed to each analogue camera — unlike a PoE NVR, this recorder does not power cameras over the video cable
- An HDMI or VGA monitor for local viewing and setup
Frequently asked questions
Can I mix different camera types on this recorder?
Yes. The Penta-brid design accepts HDCVI, AHD, TVI and CVBS analogue cameras and IP cameras at the same time, so you can combine existing coax cameras with newer IP cameras on the same recorder.
Is there a monthly fee to record and view footage?
No. Recording to the internal hard drive(s) and viewing locally or through Dahua's apps carries no subscription or monthly fee.
Can I add IP cameras later?
Yes. This recorder supports up to 48 additional IP camera channels (up to 8MP), so IP cameras can be added over time as the system grows, alongside the 32 analogue channels.
Does this recorder power my cameras?
No. Analogue cameras connected over coax need their own separate 12V power supply; this recorder does not supply power down the video cable the way a PoE NVR does for IP cameras.
