Common questions

What does Penta-brid mean on this recorder?

It accepts HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS and IP video inputs. The 32 BNC ports auto-detect the analogue format and IP cameras can be added on top. See Dahua Penta-brid recorders explained and Dahua HDCVI explained.

Does it record 4K?

Dahua's description is 4K Value/5MP. With Encode Enhancement off, main stream 4K is up to 15 fps on channels 1, 9, 17 and 25 and up to 7 fps on the other channels; 5 MP is up to 25 fps on those four channels and up to 12 fps on the others. HDMI 1 outputs up to 3840 x 2160.

How many IP cameras can it add?

Up to 64 IP channels (32 by default plus 32 when analogue channels are converted), each up to 12 MP, with 256 Mbps incoming bandwidth. Once IP extension is enabled, EPTZ, Video Quality Analytics, Scene Changing, Face Recognition, Face Detection, SMD, Perimeter Protection, QuickPick 2.0 and Privacy Protection cannot be used.
