The Dahua DH-XVR5232AN-4KL-I3 is a 32-channel Penta-brid digital video recorder that records at up to 4K resolution (or 5MP at a higher 25fps) and accepts HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS analogue cameras and IP cameras on the same 32 coax inputs, with a further 64 IP channels available for a fully hybrid or IP-only expansion.
Who is it for?
This recorder suits larger sites — multi-area retail units, warehouses, distribution centres or commercial premises — that need 32 coax camera positions with room to add IP cameras as the system grows. Because it is Penta-brid, an existing HDCVI, AHD, TVI or older analogue (CVBS) installation can be upgraded camera by camera, or mixed with IP cameras on the same recorder, without a full re-cable.

- At least one SATA hard drive (sold separately) — up to 16TB per bay, 2 bays fitted
- RG59 coax cable and a 12V power supply run to each analogue camera — unlike a PoE NVR, this recorder does not power cameras over the video cable
- An HDMI or VGA monitor for local viewing and setup

Can I mix analogue and IP cameras on this recorder?
Yes. The DH-XVR5232AN-4KL-I3 is Penta-brid, so its 32 coax inputs accept HDCVI, AHD, TVI or CVBS cameras, and up to 64 further IP cameras can be added over the network, all on the same recorder.
Is there a monthly fee to view footage remotely?
No. Remote viewing through Dahua's app and software is free; you only need your own internet connection.
Can I add IP cameras later if I start with analogue only?
Yes. The IP channels are available from day one, so you can start with coax cameras on the 32 analogue inputs and add IP cameras whenever you are ready, without changing the recorder.
Do I need to buy a hard drive separately?
Yes, this recorder is sold without a hard drive fitted. It has 2 SATA bays, each supporting up to 16TB, so you can size the storage to your recording needs.
