Dahua DHI-TPC-DF1241-B7F8-DW-S2 - Dual Lens AI Thermal Imaging IP CCTV Eyeball Camera

Dahua DHI-TPC-DF1241-B7F8-DW-S2 — Dual Lens Thermal Imaging IP CCTV Turret Camera, 4MP Visible, PoE, Heat Detection, 7mm Thermal Lens, IP67

The Dahua DHI-TPC-DF1241-B7F8-DW-S2 is a dual lens thermal imaging IP CCTV turret camera from Dahua's Eureka series (Dahua model TPC-DF1241-S2, a thermal network mini hybrid eyeball camera). It has two channels: a 256 × 192 vanadium oxide thermal sensor with a 7mm lens, and a 4MP visible camera with an 8mm lens and 30m IR. Dahua lists heat detection, tripwire, intrusion, human and vehicle classification, smoking detection and call detection. Together these make it an AI camera as well as a thermal camera. It is the longer reach version of the DHI-TPC-DF1241-B3F4-DW-S2. Without the DHI- prefix the model is TPC-DF1241-B7F8-DW-S2.

Also listed as TPC-DF1241-B7F8-DW-S2.

Dahua describes the Eureka thermal camera for short-distance monitoring such as perimeter protection and heat monitoring in small and medium scenes, widely applied in factories, car parks and villas.

Key features

• Thermal channel: 256 × 192 vanadium oxide uncooled focal plane detector with a 7mm F1.0 lens and a 24° × 18° field of view.

Common questions

What are the thermal and visible channels?

The camera has two sensors. The thermal channel is a 256 × 192 vanadium oxide detector with a 7mm lens. The visible channel is a 4MP sensor with an 8mm lens and 30m IR, working down to 0 lux with IR on. With IR on it also works as a night vision camera, while the thermal channel sees heat in total darkness.

Does it measure temperature?

It provides heat detection and alarm with cold and hot spot trace. Dahua's datasheet for this model does not list spot, line or area temperature measurement; Dahua lists that on the -T models, such as the DHI-TPC-DF1241-TB3F4-DW-S2.

Why choose the 7mm version?

It reaches further than the 3.5mm version: Dahua rates human detection at 292 m and vehicle detection at 897 m with a narrower 24° × 18° thermal view. The 3.5mm version gives a wider 50.6° × 37.8° view.

Can it be powered by PoE?

Yes. Dahua lists the power supply as 12 VDC ±20% or PoE, with a maximum of 12.3 W on PoE.

Can it record to a memory card?

Yes, it has a Micro SD slot for cards up to 256GB.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

It is a waterproof camera for outdoor use: Dahua lists IP67 protection and an operating temperature of -30 °C to +60 °C.
