TP-Link shows its Wi-Fi 8 range at IFA 2026
1 September 2026
TP-Link presented what it describes as its first complete Wi-Fi 8 line-up at IFA in Berlin, led by the Archer 8 Ultra router and the Deco 8 Ultra mesh system. TP-Link says the focus of Wi-Fi 8 is steadier connections in busy, interference-heavy homes rather than headline speed, with later launches planned for travel routers, extenders and adapters. Wi-Fi 8 products are not on sale from us yet; for current models see our TP-Link Wi-Fi routers.

VIGI connects to the Sentinel alarm monitoring platform
20 August 2026
VIGI cameras and NVRs can now send video events and alarms into Monitor Computer Systems' Sentinel platform, which alarm receiving centres use to handle incoming alerts. That means monitoring operators can work with VIGI footage inside their existing software.

Omada Fusion 2.5G gateway launched
30 May 2026
Omada introduced the Fusion 2.5G, the first gateway in its Fusion series according to TP-Link. It combines a router and an Omada controller in one box, with five 2.5G ports, a small touchscreen for on-site checks and a new VPN feature for linking remote users and branches.

Omada shows networking and surveillance from one vendor at ISC West 2026

At ISC West in Las Vegas, Omada set out networking and VIGI surveillance as a single platform for small and medium businesses. The show included Fusion gateways, campus Layer 3 switches, new wireless bridges and Wi-Fi 7 access points, alongside VIGI panoramic, PTZ, 4G and solar cameras and a free network design tool.

TP-Link container service for internet providers
26 January 2026
TP-Link launched a container security service on its TAUC cloud platform for broadband providers, working with HKBN in Hong Kong and F-Secure. It lets a provider add and manage software modules, such as security, on customers' routers remotely. This is a service for internet providers, so there is nothing to buy from us.

VIGI adds AI cameras, solar power and a free cloud VMS
28 October 2025
VIGI widened its business CCTV range with new AI cameras, including 180° panoramic models with deterrence lights and a 4G bullet camera, plus an outdoor solar power kit. It also launched VIGI Free Cloud VMS, which TP-Link says has no licence fees.

TP-Link completes a Wi-Fi 8 test connection
13 October 2025
TP-Link reported a successful Wi-Fi 8 data connection using a prototype built with industry partners. It described Wi-Fi 8 as aimed at reliability, coverage and roaming. Wi-Fi 8 products are not on sale from us yet; see our current TP-Link Wi-Fi routers.

Matter energy monitoring for Tapo plugs
5 September 2025
A firmware update brings Matter energy monitoring to Tapo, starting with the Tapo P110M smart plug, so energy readings can show in compatible Matter apps. TP-Link says other Matter devices with energy monitoring will follow, and both the device and its hub need the latest firmware.

Tapo S110E dry contact relay module
25 August 2025
Tapo announced the S110E relay module, which supports dry and wet contact modes so it can switch things such as garage doors, boilers and lighting circuits. It adds Bluetooth control for setup without Wi-Fi and energy monitoring. We do not stock the S110E at present.

Archer TBE400U Wi-Fi 7 USB adapter
14 August 2025
TP-Link previewed the Archer TBE400U ahead of IFA 2025, a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 USB adapter that TP-Link calls the first dual-port Wi-Fi 7 adapter, with both USB-C and USB-A connectors. We stock the Archer TBE400UH, a high-gain tri-band Wi-Fi 7 USB adapter.

Omada Wi-Fi at Cereals and 2000trees
31 July 2025
Omada equipment ran the event Wi-Fi at two UK events, the Cereals farming show and the 2000trees festival, through installers Comms UK and iSpyder. The festival network used outdoor access points, Omada switches and an ER605 router, and TP-Link reports several thousand people connected over the weekend.

Omada Central Essentials: free cloud management
19 May 2025
Omada and VIGI launched Omada Central Essentials, a free cloud tier for managing small business networks and CCTV together. It covers access points, switches, gateways, cameras and NVRs, with remote video viewing and multi-site management, and replaces the earlier Omada Cloud Essentials.

Omada Central brings Omada and VIGI together
16 May 2025
TP-Link released Omada Central, a cloud platform that replaces the Omada cloud-based controller and manages Omada networking and VIGI surveillance in one place. It has a free Essentials tier and a paid Standard tier with licences for advanced features.
