The Uniview NI-VX1648-C-V3 is a 48-bay IP SAN for video storage, with one controller, an Intel 64-bit multi-core processor and 4 GB memory.
What the NI-VX1648-C-V3 is for
It is central storage for larger CCTV systems, where cameras and recorders write to a shared iSCSI pool rather than to drives in each recorder. Uniview rates it for 320-channel (640 Mbps) recording, 160-channel forwarding and 32-channel playback, with up to 1024 host connections.
It takes 48 SATA drives of 4 to 24 TB each, with JBOD and RAID 0, 1, 5 and 6 and dedicated or global hot-spare disks. It has three gigabit Ethernet ports, with optional 2.5GE and 10GE SFP+ modules, and 2 PCIe slots. It runs on 100 to 240 V AC and draws under 700 W fully configured.

What you will need
Add 48 SATA surveillance hard drives of 4 to 24 TB each; none are supplied. It needs rack space, mains power and gigabit or faster switching between it and the recorders or VMS, plus a network cable for each link. A compatible NVR or VMS that can use iSCSI storage is needed to record to it.
