The Yealink SIP-T33G (often shortened to T33G) is an entry-level IP phone for the office desk. It has a handset, a 2.4 inch 320 x 240-pixel colour display with backlight, four line keys and up to 4 SIP accounts. Yealink lists dual-port Gigabit Ethernet with integrated PoE, HD voice and local 5-way conferencing.

What the SIP-T33G is for

It is a VoIP phone that registers to a SIP server, IP-PBX or hosted VoIP service instead of an analogue line, so it suits an office desk, reception or shared workspace. The four line keys have LEDs and can be programmed as up to 12 paperless DSS keys across four pages, for speed dials or Busy Lamp Field (BLF) monitoring where your phone system supports it. Calls use Yealink HD Voice with an HD handset and HD speaker, the G.722 wideband codec and Smart Noise Filtering, and there is a full-duplex hands-free speakerphone with AEC. The handset has a hall switch, which Yealink says avoids a popping sound when the handset is lifted or put back. Dual Gigabit ports and PoE mean one network cable can serve the phone, and an RJ9 headset port and EHS35 support are provided for headsets.

What you will need

The SIP-T33G needs a SIP account from a SIP server, IP-PBX or hosted VoIP service (Yealink lists SIP v2, RFC 3261). Yealink does not name specific phone systems on its datasheet, so check with your provider that they support the features you plan to use. For power, Yealink lists PoE (IEEE 802.3af, class 1, applying to phones with a V2 logo or later on the label) or an external Yealink AC adapter with 100-240 V AC input and 5 V DC 0.6 A output, which the datasheet lists as optional. What power does the SIP-T33G need?

Yealink lists Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af, class 1) or an external Yealink AC adapter (100-240 V AC input, 5 V DC 0.6 A output), which is shown as optional. Power consumption is 3.5-5 W on PoE and 2-3 W with the adapter.

How many SIP accounts and line keys does the SIP-T33G have?

Yealink lists up to 4 SIP accounts and 4 line keys with LEDs. The line keys can be programmed up to 12 paperless DSS keys using the 4-page view.

Can I use a headset with the SIP-T33G?

Yes. It has an RJ9 (4P4C) headset port, and Yealink lists EHS35 support for its wireless headsets. Check the headset model you plan to use against Yealink's compatibility information.
