Who is the HL-NVR-216MH-K/16P for?

The largest recorder in the HiLook range: 16 channels, 16 built-in PoE ports, two drive bays, and up to 12MP per channel. It is for commercial sites that want everything on one box — a supermarket, a distribution unit, a school, a multi-tenant building, a large car park — with the resolution headroom to mix 12MP panoramic and deterrence cameras with ordinary 4MP units, and the storage to keep a month of footage. If none of the cameras will exceed 8MP, the NVR-216MH-C/16P does the same job at 4K for less. For 8 channels at 12MP, the HL-NVR-208MH-K/8P.

What to add

• Two surveillance-grade hard drives — 2 × 6TB or 2 × 8TB for a 16-camera site; we fit and format to order.
• Cat5e/Cat6 cable to each camera, up to 100m per run; a PoE switch such as the NS-0318P-130(C) for camera clusters beyond 100m.
• A network cable to your router or switch for the free HiLookVision or Hik-Connect app; a 4K HDMI monitor for local viewing.

Frequently asked questions

Can it handle 16 × 12MP cameras?

Check the total incoming bandwidth on the datasheet against your camera bitrates; in practice systems mix a few 12MP with many 4MP, which is well within it.

How long will it record?

With 2 × 8TB and a typical mix of 4MP and 8MP cameras on H.265+, roughly a month continuous.

Can I add a second NVR later?

Yes — multiple HiLook NVRs can be viewed together in the app.
