Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3849QMP-S-IL - 8MP 4K WizSense AI Smart Dual Light Eyeball Turret PoE IP CCTV Camera

Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3849QMP-S-IL - 8MP 4K WizSense AI Turret PoE IP CCTV Camera

The Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3849QMP-S-IL is an 8MP 4K eyeball (turret) IP camera from the Smart Dual Light line of Dahua's WizSense 3 Series, sold here with a 2.8mm lens in white or black, or a 3.6mm lens in white. It records 3840 x 2160 at up to 25/30fps from a 1/2.7-inch sensor.

Two multi-core lights provide IR and warm light, reaching up to 30m with the 2.8mm lens (110 degree view) and 40m with the 3.6mm lens (86 degree view). Dahua gives a low-light figure of 0.007 lux in colour.

Perimeter protection covers intrusion, tripwire, stay and loitering with human and vehicle classification, alongside SMD 4.0, face detection, AcuPick and AI SSA. It has a built-in microphone, an IP67 metal housing rated for -40 to +60 degrees C, and runs on PoE (802.3af) or 12V DC.

Also listed as IPC-HDW3849QMP-S-IL.

• Perimeter protection (intrusion and tripwire) classifies humans and vehicles, with stay detection, loitering detection and face detection.
• SMD 4.0 smart motion detection, AcuPick and AI scene self-adaptation (AI SSA).
• Starlight technology and an F1.4 lens for low light performance.
• Super AI Coding with Smart H.265+ and Smart H.264+ to reduce storage and bandwidth.
• Built-in microphone; Micro SD card up to 512 GB.
• 12 VDC or PoE (802.3af) power; IP67 protection (dust-proof and waterproof) for outdoor use; wide voltage tolerance.

Common questions

Which lens should I choose?

The 2.8 mm lens gives the wider view (horizontal 110°, vertical 58°) with IR and warm light up to 30 m. The 3.6 mm lens gives a narrower view (horizontal 86°) and its lights reach up to 40 m. Dahua's detect distance is 84.8 m for 2.8 mm and 98.7 m for 3.6 mm. Select the lens and colour from the options at the top of this page.

What is Smart Dual Light and does it record in colour at night?

Dahua says the IR illuminator is usually on at night. When a target appears in the monitoring area a light switches on and the camera records full-colour video of the event, then it returns to IR when the target leaves. Our Smart Dual Light guide explains the feature.

What does WizSense mean?

WizSense is Dahua's AI range, which uses deep learning to focus on humans and vehicles. This model adds perimeter protection, SMD 4.0 and AcuPick. See our WizSense guide and our Starlight low light guide for the low light technology.

Does it record sound?

Yes. It has a built-in microphone.

Will it work with a non-Dahua NVR?

It supports ONVIF (Profile S, G, T and M). AcuPick works with back-end devices and Smart Search works with a Dahua Smart NVR.

How is it powered?

By 12 VDC (±30%) or PoE (802.3af). Dahua gives a basic power consumption of 5.3 W on PoE and a maximum of 9.5 W.

What size Micro SD card does it accept?

Up to 512GB. It can also record to NAS, FTP or SFTP.

Is it weatherproof?

Yes. The metal housing is rated IP67 and works from -40 to +60 degrees C.

Can I view it from my phone?

Yes. Dahua lists DMSS among its management software, with mobile clients for iOS and Android.
