What you will need
- A compatible SATA hard drive (up to 16TB) — the recorder is sold without one
- RG59 coaxial cable and a separate 12V power supply run to each HDCVI/AHD/TVI camera — unlike a PoE NVR, this recorder does not power analogue cameras over the video cable
- An HDMI or VGA monitor for local setup and live viewing
- A network cable if you plan to add IP cameras or use remote viewing

Can I mix analogue and IP cameras on this recorder?
Yes. The DH-XVR5104H-4KL-I3-4P has 4 analogue channels (HDCVI/AHD/TVI/CVBS auto-detect) and can add IP cameras on top, up to 8 IP channels in total, so you can combine existing coax cameras with newer IP cameras on the same recorder.
Is there a monthly subscription fee?
No. Recording is stored locally on the internal hard drive and there is no mandatory monthly fee for local recording and playback.
Can I add IP cameras later?
Yes, IP channels can be added at any time up to the recorder's maximum of 8 IP channels, alongside the 4 analogue channels.
