Common questions

What does Penta-brid mean?

Dahua lists support for HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS and IP video input on one recorder, so analogue and IP cameras can share it. See our guide to Dahua Penta-brid recorders.

Can I mix analogue and IP cameras?

Yes. There are 4 analogue BNC inputs, and it takes up to 6 IP channels in total: 2 by default plus 4 when analogue channels are converted to IP. Once IP channels are added beyond the existing channels, the AI functions (IVS, SMD, face) are disabled.

Does the recorder power the cameras?

Dahua lists no PoC (power over coax) function for this model, so plan power for each camera. For power over coax see the DH-XVR5104H-4KL-I3-4P, which Dahua lists with PoC AT and PoC AF support.

Do I need AI cameras for face recognition and SMD Plus?
