The Dahua EPC245U-PTZ-IR is an explosion-proof 2MP PTZ camera for hazardous and corrosive sites. Dahua lists ATEX and IECEx standards (EN and IEC 60079 parts 0, 1, 28 and 31) and a 316L stainless steel housing.

A 1/2.8-inch 2MP sensor and a 3.95-177.7mm lens give 45x optical zoom, from 70.3 degrees wide to 1.8 degrees at full zoom. The main stream runs at 1080p up to 50/60fps, and 7 IR lights reach up to 200m. It pans 360 degrees continuously and tilts from -90 to +90 degrees.

The housing is rated IP68 (1.2m for 45 minutes) and works from -40 to +60 degrees C. It runs on 100-240V AC, 3A, and has a Micro SD slot up to 256GB. At 34.4kg net it needs a mount and fixings rated for the load.

Dahua lists a 100 to 240V AC, 3A power supply. No PoE input is listed.

How far can it see at night?

As an infrared camera it has 7 IR lights, and Dahua gives an IR distance of up to 200m.

How far does the zoom see?

At the tele end Dahua gives DORI distances of 2451.0m to detect, 980.4m to observe, 490.2m to recognise and 245.1m to identify. At the wide end they are 54.5m, 21.8m, 10.9m and 5.4m.

How heavy is it?

Dahua lists a net weight of 34.4kg and a gross weight of 52.0kg, so plan a mount and fixings to suit.

Is the housing corrosion resistant?

Dahua lists a 316L stainless steel, anti-corrosion design and IP68 (1.2m / 45 min). This standard model has basic anti-corrosion protection; professional protection is only on the -C5-H model.

Can it record to a memory card?

Yes. Dahua lists a Micro SD card slot up to 256GB.

What frame rate does it record at?

The main stream runs 1080p, 1.3MP or 720p at up to 50/60fps. Sub stream 1 runs D1 or CIF and sub stream 2 runs up to 1080p, both at up to 25/30fps.

What are its pan and tilt ranges?

Pan is 0 to 360 degrees endless, and tilt is -90 to +90 degrees.
