Who is the THC-T229-MS for?

The long-range 2MP ColorVu Lite turret: 40m of warm white light instead of the usual 20m, so colour night footage reaches the far end of a larger garden, a drive or a yard on a coax system. A built-in microphone records audio over the same cable. Choose it over the THC-T129-MS when the area you're covering is 20–40m deep; choose the 5MP THC-T259-MS when you also need to identify faces or plates at that range.

What you'll need with it

• A HiLook HD-TVI DVR with audio-over-coax support to record sound — e.g. DVR-204G-M1/T, DVR-208Q-M1.
• RG59 coax + 12V power per camera, or pre-made shotgun cable.
• Remote viewing through the DVR in the free HiLookVision or Hik-Connect app.

Frequently asked questions

Is 40m of white light intrusive?

It is brighter than the 20m models, so aim it into your own property and use the brightness control. It only comes on when the scene is dark.

Does it have infrared as a fallback?

No — ColorVu Lite is white-light only. For IR-or-white-light on coax, see the THC-T227-LTS.

Will the audio record on my DVR?

Only on DVRs with audio over coax ("/T" or U-series). Otherwise video only.
