Dahua DH-IPC-HFW3849T1P-AS-PV-0280B-PRO-Black

The Dahua DH-IPC-HFW3849T1P-AS-PV-0280B-PRO-Black (IPC-HFW3849T1P-AS-PV-0280B-PRO-Black without the DH- prefix) is an 8MP 4K TiOC PRO PoE IP CCTV bullet camera in black with a fixed 2.8mm lens. Dahua's datasheet for the family, DH-IPC-HFW3849T1-AS-PV-PRO, describes it as an 8MP WizColor TiOC PRO fixed-focal bullet WizSense network camera. It adds WizSense AI, WizColor night images, IR and warm light up to 40m on the 2.8mm lens, and a sound and light alarm for TiOC active deterrence. With an IP67 housing and an operating temperature of -40°C to +60°C it can be mounted outdoors.

Also listed as IPC-HFW3849T1P-AS-PV-0280B-PRO-Black, and without the 0280B lens code (2.8mm) as IPC-HFW3849T1P-AS-PV-PRO-Black or DH-IPC-HFW3849T1P-AS-PV-PRO. Dahua's base model is IPC-HFW3849T1-AS-PV-PRO.

Common questions

What does TiOC PRO mean on this camera?

Dahua's datasheet calls the family an 8MP WizColor TiOC PRO camera. On this model the active deterrence is a sound and light alarm with red and blue lights. Read our guide to TiOC active deterrence cameras.

What is WizSense?

Dahua describes WizSense as a series of AI products that use an independent AI chip and deep learning, focused on human and vehicle detection. See our WizSense guide.

Does it have Starlight low-light performance?

Dahua says the WizSense 3 Series uses Starlight technology and a large aperture lens for clear images in poor lighting, and this camera has an F1.0 lens. Our Starlight guide explains more.

How far do the IR and warm light reach?

Up to 40m each on the 2.8mm lens. The 3.6mm version of this family reaches 60m IR and 50m warm light. See our Smart Dual Light guide.

Will it work with a non-Dahua recorder?

ONVIF Profile S, G and T are supported. Dahua says Smart Search works together with a Smart NVR for refined intelligent search.

How is it powered?

From 12 VDC (±30%) or PoE+ (802.3at). Basic power use is 4.3 W on 12 VDC and 6.2 W on PoE, rising to 11.8 W or 15.1 W with WDR, warm light, siren and light active deterrence and intelligence on.

Can it be used as an outdoor camera?

Yes. Dahua lists an IP67 housing and an operating temperature of -40°C to +60°C, and it runs from 12 VDC or PoE+ (802.3at).

Is it a waterproof camera?

The housing is rated IP67, which Dahua's datasheet gives as protection against immersion in 1 m of water for 30 minutes.

Is it a night vision camera?

Yes. Smart Dual Light gives IR and warm light up to 40m on the 2.8mm lens, and Dahua lists 0 lux minimum illumination with the illuminator on.
