Who is the PTZ-N4225I-DE for?

HiLook’s longest-reach IP PTZ: a 2MP speed dome with 25× optical zoom and 100m infrared. Twenty-five times zoom means a plate that is a dot on the overview becomes readable at 100m or more — the spec for large yards, industrial estates, farms, car parks and perimeters where one high-mounted camera has to cover ground that would need a dozen fixed units. It patrols between presets and can be steered live from the app. If the site is smaller and 15× is enough, the PTZ-N4215I-DE costs less; for auto-tracking of people and vehicles in a compact body, the PTZ-N2D400M-DE/14.

What you’ll need with it

• A HiLook or Hikvision NVR — NVR-108H-D/8P, NVR-216MH-C/16P or the 12MP HL-NVR-216MH-K/16P.
• PoE+ (802.3at) or local power — a standard PoE NVR port is usually not enough for a speed dome; a PoE+ switch like the NS-0510P-80(B) solves it.
• A pole or corner bracket giving a clear line of sight; the free HiLookVision or Hik-Connect app.

Frequently asked questions

How far can it identify a person?

With 25× zoom, a face is recognisable at around 80–100m in daylight; at night the 100m IR sets the limit.

Does it lose the wide view when zoomed in?

Yes — it records what it is looking at. Set patrol presets or add a fixed overview camera alongside it.

Is it suitable for a house?

Usually overkill — the compact PTZ-N2404I-DE3 suits domestic gardens and yards.
