The Dahua DH-XVR5216AN-4KL-I3-16P is a 16-channel Penta-brid digital video recorder (DVR/XVR) with built-in AI Coding, supporting HDCVI, AHD, TVI and CVBS analogue cameras alongside IP cameras on the same recorder. It records at up to 4K@15fps or 5MP@25fps on the analogue channels and can take a further up to 32 IP camera inputs (16 by default, expandable, each up to 8MP), giving a hybrid analogue/IP system with AI-powered analytics on one box.

What you will need
- A hard drive for the 2 HDD bays (up to 16TB per disk supported) if one is not already fitted
- RG59 coax cable and a local 12V power supply for each standard analogue camera — the recorder does not power analogue cameras itself; if you use PoC-compatible cameras, power is carried over the same coax lead via the 16-ch HDCVI PoC AT&AF supply
- A PoE switch or separate power supply for any IP cameras used on the IP channels — these are not powered by the recorder either
- An HDMI or VGA monitor to view the local display and set up the recorder

Can I mix HDCVI, AHD, TVI and IP cameras on this recorder?
Yes. The DH-XVR5216AN-4KL-I3-16P is a Penta-brid recorder, meaning each of its 16 analogue inputs auto-detects HDCVI, AHD, TVI or CVBS cameras, and a further up to 32 channels are available for IP cameras — so you can run a mixed system from one box.
Is there a monthly fee or subscription?
No. There is no monthly fee to record, view or export footage from this recorder — it is a one-off purchase.
Can I add IP cameras later?
Yes. The recorder supports up to 32 IP camera channels in addition to its 16 analogue inputs, so you can start with your existing coax cameras and add IP cameras to the same recorder as your system grows.
Does the recorder power the cameras?
Only if you use PoC-compatible analogue cameras, which draw power over the same coax cable as the video signal via the built-in HDCVI PoC AT&AF supply. Standard analogue cameras need their own 12V power supply, and IP cameras need PoE or a separate power source.
