Hik-Connect for Teams: Separate Logins and Multi-Site Management for Businesses

Hik-Connect for Teams, released in April 2024, lets a business give each staff member their own login to the company's Hikvision cameras, intercoms and doors, with roles that control what each person can see and do, and manage several sites from one account. Before this, Hik-Connect was built around one login that everyone had to share. Here's what changed and why it matters for businesses.

The problem with one shared login

Sharing one app login across a team is a security risk: you can't tell who did what, you can't limit what each person sees, and when someone leaves you have to change the password for everyone. Hik-Connect for Teams fixes that.

What Hik-Connect for Teams does

  • Multi-user accounts: a main admin creates a team account and adds staff, each with their own login.
  • Predefined roles and custom access levels, so a shop manager sees their store, an area manager sees several, and a cleaner can only open the doors they need.
  • Multi-site management for chains, offices and residential communities, with a visual overview of every connected device.
  • Video, intercom, access control and attendance in one platform, with live video and event notifications on the go.
  • Start small and grow with the devices you already have, adding sites and capacity later.
  • No central server, because it's peer-to-peer (P2P) cloud based, plus remote monitoring and upgrades.

Who it helps

  • Retail chains and franchises that need branch managers and head office to see different things.
  • Offices where reception, facilities and management need different access.
  • Residential communities and property managers handling intercoms and doors across several buildings.
  • Small businesses that want to stop sharing one password.

Since then: Hik-Connect 6 and AcuSeek

Hik-Connect has kept developing. In 2025, Hik-Connect 6 added AcuSeek AI search, letting you find footage by typing or speaking a description. See our AcuSeek guide. Hikvision's second-generation access control can also be managed through Hik-Connect 6; see our access control article.

Our take

Separate logins with proper roles should be standard for any business security system, and Hik-Connect for Teams brings that to the free app most Hikvision users already have. If several people in your business use one Hik-Connect login, it's worth switching. When someone leaves, you can then simply remove their access.
