Hik-Partner Pro: How Hikvision's Installer App Grew to Manage Switches and Wi-Fi

Hik-Partner Pro started in 2022 as Hikvision's new app for installers, replacing Hik-ProConnect, and has since grown to manage smart switches (2023) and cloud-managed Wi-Fi access points (2024) alongside cameras and recorders. Those steps led directly to LinkVu in 2026. Here's how the platform developed and what each stage means for installers and the businesses they look after.

2022: Hik-ProConnect becomes Hik-Partner Pro

In late 2022 Hikvision upgraded Hik-ProConnect into Hik-Partner Pro (HPP), a one-stop platform for installers, distributors and integrators, on mobile and PC. Existing users logged in with their current account and migrated. HPP offered:

  • Product, sales and marketing information in one place.
  • Remote configuration and maintenance of customers' devices, carried over from Hik-ProConnect.
  • Value-added services installers can sell, such as device health monitoring.
  • How-to guides, product selectors and quoting tools.

2023: managing smart switches from your phone

In December 2023, Hikvision added full support for its Smart Managed Switches in the HPP app:

  • Set up switches and cameras from a smartphone, with no laptop or monitor needed.
  • See the whole network topology on your phone, with aggregation, zoom, landscape view and stacking, plus bandwidth, power use and device details.
  • View live video from connected cameras inside the topology.
  • Remote troubleshooting, including rebooting a PoE port to bring a frozen camera back without a site visit.

2024: cloud-managed Wi-Fi access points

In October 2024, Hikvision upgraded its wireless access points for small businesses, managed through HPP:

  • No hardware controller or licence fees. Free cloud management replaces a separate access controller.
  • Works with existing routers, so a business can add Wi-Fi without replacing its kit.
  • Three-step set-up: plug in, connect to the access point's Wi-Fi, then batch-activate in the app.
  • Remote monitoring, so an offline access point shows up in the app and can be rebooted remotely.
  • Captive portal for guest login pages (useful for cafés and hotels), one-click guest Wi-Fi isolation, and one-click optimisation to reduce interference.
  • Wi-Fi 6 with intelligent roaming, and token-based authentication for secure management.

Why it matters

For installers, every call-out that can be avoided is time and money saved. When the cameras, the switch powering them and the Wi-Fi all show up in one app, a "camera offline" call can often be diagnosed and fixed from the van or the office. For business owners, it means faster fixes and a network someone can actually see and support.

Hikvision switches for HPP

We stock Hikvision smart managed PoE switches, such as the DS-3E1106HP-EI 4-port, DS-3E1310HP-EI(B) 8-port, DS-3E1318P-EI(B) 16-port and DS-3E1326P-EI(B) 24-port. Our take

Hik-Partner Pro has quietly become the centre of Hikvision's installer offering. Adding switches and Wi-Fi was the logical step, because so many CCTV faults are really network faults. If you install Hikvision regularly and don't yet use HPP, it's worth setting up.
