Hikvision cameras and software don't have to work alone: through its open platforms (HEOP 2.0, ISAPI and OpenAPI) and its Technology Partner Programme, Hikvision kit now connects to building automation (KNX and BACnet), maintenance software, fleet telematics and third-party AI apps. This guide brings together Hikvision's integration news from 2021 to 2024 and explains what each one can do for a business.
The Hikvision Embedded Open Platform lets partners run their own AI apps inside Hikvision cameras. Version 2.0 added a lightweight, secure container system (called "Conch") so each app runs in its own space, and the HikFlow kit for running third-party deep-learning algorithms on the camera. In practice, a camera can gain new abilities from specialist software companies without new hardware.
Hikvision launched a dedicated UK Technology Partner Programme (TPP), giving software and hardware vendors access to UK-based R&D support, integration tools and marketing, so more UK products work properly with Hikvision kit.
Irida Labs' PerCV.ai runs on DeepinView cameras via HEOP and ISAPI. Its Industry 4.0 apps count parcels and pallets, read analogue gauges, scan QR codes, check PPE and track forklift movement; its Smart Cities and Spaces apps monitor parking and occupancy. In 2024 a new version let non-experts pick ready-made apps or train their own models in a web interface, and feed results into warehouse management (WMS) and ERP systems.
KNX is the global standard for controlling lighting, heating, ventilation and blinds. Can'nX's Link'nX gateway connects Hikvision AI cameras to KNX systems, so building events and camera events can trigger each other. For example, lights can come on when a camera detects a person after hours.
Argeloji's BlueOperation CMMS+ maintenance platform connects to HikCentral over BACnet. Facilities teams see the live status of cameras, access control, intruder detection and NVRs, get alerts when something fails, and can schedule preventive maintenance automatically.
Hikvision mobile cameras and mobile NVRs integrate with Gurtam's Wialon GPS tracking platform. Fleet operators of buses, lorries and taxis get remote video of the cab and surroundings alongside GPS location, for supervision, scheduling and emergency response.
Hikvision has also integrated with iThermAI for AI fire and smoke detection and Teknim for fire alarm panels. See our fire detection article.
Most of these integrations rely on Hikvision's higher-end cameras, especially DeepinView, and on HikCentral Professional for site-wide management. Integration details are listed on Hikvision's Technology Partner Programme portal; ask us if you're planning a project that needs one.
The open-platform approach is what lets a security camera become a factory sensor, a building automation trigger or a fleet safety tool. For most small sites none of this is needed, but for warehouses, manufacturers, facilities teams and fleets, it's worth knowing what's possible before buying cameras that can't grow.

What is HEOP?
The Hikvision Embedded Open Platform, which lets third-party AI apps run directly on Hikvision cameras.
Can Hikvision cameras work with KNX?
Yes, through Can'nX's Link'nX gateway, which connects Hikvision AI devices to KNX building automation.
What is BACnet?
An industry-standard protocol for building automation and control, used by HikCentral to connect with systems such as Argeloji's CMMS and Teknim's fire alarms.
Can I add AI apps to cameras I already have?
On HEOP 2.0-compatible models such as many DeepinView cameras, partner apps like Irida Labs' PerCV.ai can be deployed to the camera.
