PTZ cameras pan, tilt and zoom, so one unit can cover ground that would otherwise take several fixed cameras. The trade-off is that a PTZ only looks in one direction at a time, so on most sites it works alongside fixed cameras rather than replacing them.
Pick the optical zoom from the distance you need to identify someone at: 4× for a forecourt or small yard, 15–25× for a car park or school field, 32× for a long boundary. Digital zoom is not a substitute — it only enlarges pixels. Every Hikvision model is compared side by side, with dome sizes, zoom and IR, in our Hikvision PTZ camera guide.
These are IP cameras, so they run over network cable to an NVR — check you have a spare channel and enough PoE budget. For coax, see the HD analogue PTZ range. Zenith Security Co. is an authorised Hikvision partner, operating since 2012, delivering within 1–2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. Call 01902 902251 and we will go through it with you before you buy.
