Hikvision DeepinViewX: AI Perimeter Cameras With 99% Fewer False Alarms

Hikvision's new DeepinViewX bullet cameras use the Guanlan large-scale AI models to protect perimeters with up to 120 metres of detection range and, according to Hikvision, 99% fewer false alarms than conventional cameras. Launched on 21 July 2025, they're designed for anyone who has given up on motion alerts because the trees, cats and car headlights kept setting them off. Here's what's different about DeepinViewX and where it fits.

What is DeepinViewX?

DeepinView is Hikvision's top-tier deep-learning camera range. The "X" models add the Guanlan large-scale AI models, which understand a scene far better than earlier analytics. The July 2025 launch introduced two bullet camera types:

  • 5-line fixed-lens cameras with a 60-metre night-time detection range.
  • 7-line triple-lens cameras covering up to 120 metres at night, with a very long depth of field.

They also use advanced optics and AI-ISP (AI image processing) for clear video around the clock.

What DeepinViewX can do

Hikvision lists these results against conventional cameras, based on its project testing:

  • 99% fewer false alarms. The AI tells real threats apart from moving shadows, small animals and bright lights.
  • 50% fewer repeated alarms. One intruder means one alert, not a stream of them.
  • Up to 120 metres detection range in daytime, about twice as far as conventional cameras.
  • Better night vision for small objects far away.
  • Fewer cameras needed to cover the same perimeter, which saves on installation, labour and storage.

Why on-camera AI matters

The analysis runs on the camera itself (edge AI), and alarms are sent straight from the camera. That means it doesn't depend on a server or a remote monitoring centre to make a decision. Alerts arrive faster, the AI works on full-quality video before compression, and the system keeps working even if the network to the control room has problems.

Who it helps

  • Remote-monitored sites: fewer false alarms mean lower monitoring costs and quicker response to real events.
  • Business parks, depots and yards with long fence lines.
  • Construction sites and storage compounds that are empty overnight.
  • Residential developments and office buildings that want perimeter alerts without constant nuisance alarms.
  • Utilities and critical sites where every alarm must be taken seriously.

Our take

False alarms are the single biggest complaint about perimeter CCTV, and the main reason people switch alerts off. If DeepinViewX delivers anything close to Hikvision's figures on your site, it changes perimeter detection from something you tolerate into something you can rely on. Longer detection range also means fewer cameras along a fence.

Quick questions

What is the difference between DeepinView and DeepinViewX?
DeepinViewX models use Hikvision's Guanlan large-scale AI models for better scene understanding, longer detection range and fewer false alarms.

How far can DeepinViewX detect?
Hikvision quotes up to 120 metres in daytime, and up to 120 metres at night on the 7-line triple-lens models (60 metres on the 5-line fixed-lens models).

Does the AI need a server?
No. Analysis runs on the camera, and alarms are pushed directly from it.

Will trees and animals still trigger alarms?
Hikvision says the AI filters out moving shadows, small animals and bright lights, with 99% fewer false alarms than conventional cameras in its testing.
