Hikvision has spent the last few years packaging enterprise-grade security for small and medium-sized businesses: a 2021 "security kit" of six technologies, ready-made one-stop solutions for shops, offices, homes and farms in 2024, and AI-enhanced products and installer tools in 2025. This guide brings those announcements together and explains what each piece of technology actually does for a small business owner.
2021: six security upgrades for small businesses
Hikvision's 2021 small business kit brought six technologies together:
- Remote access control with MinMoe face recognition terminals: open doors from your phone, control who gets in, and use them for contact-free time and attendance.
- AcuSense cameras that tell people and vehicles apart from leaves, rain and animals, so alarms mean something.
- Live Guard light and sound deterrence: strobe lights and custom voice warnings to put trespassers off before they get in.
- ColorVu full-colour night video, down to 0.0005 lux according to Hikvision, for better evidence.
- AX PRO wireless alarms that work natively with Hikvision cameras, managed from the same app.
- Hik-Connect for viewing cameras and alarms from anywhere.
2024: one-stop solutions for common businesses
In November 2024 Hikvision launched ready-made "one-stop" solutions for four common scenarios:
- Store: security plus business insight, with people counting, in-store analytics, promotional audio and background music.
- Office: security, access control, time and attendance, and meeting-room tools.
- House: property protection and convenience.
- Farm: perimeter security and livestock monitoring, including off-grid and off-power sites.
Each can include video, access control, audio, advertising displays, alarms, video intercom and networking, all managed by the customer in one app, Hik-Connect. For installers, Hik-Partner Pro gained an SMB section to match products to a scenario, generate quotes, and a smart ordering tool that suggests kit and installation diagrams from details such as a shop's size.
2025: AI for small businesses
In October 2025 Hikvision showcased AI-enhanced products built on its Guanlan AI models:
- AcuSeek NVRs: search footage by typing, for example "person wearing a red top", and set custom text alarms. Read our AcuSeek guide.
- DeepinViewX cameras: Hikvision says over 90% fewer false alarms and double the perimeter detection range. See our DeepinViewX article.
- HikAI-ISP in ColorVu 3.0 and AI Pro PTZ cameras for clearer images in difficult light.
- TalkVu video intercoms with 4MP video and dual microphones; Prime Pass speed gates that use time-of-flight sensors to stop tailgating; and a Quick Pass vehicle solution with over 98% plate recognition accuracy.
- Updated solutions for shops, villas, offices and condominiums. The Shop solution, for example, combines Live Guard cameras, MinMoe-secured stockrooms and people counting with heat-mapping.
- Installer AI tools: HPP Designer for layouts, coverage simulation and quotes, and Hikie, a 24/7 multilingual AI chatbot that answers technical questions.
What this means for a small business
- One app for everything. Cameras, alarm, door access and intercom in Hik-Connect, rather than four different systems.
- Fewer false alarms. AI that ignores leaves and cats means you actually look when your phone buzzes.
- Deterrence, not just recording. Strobes, sirens and voice warnings can stop an incident rather than just film it.
- Business value. People counting and heat maps help with staffing and layout, not just security.

Our take
Small businesses don't want four systems and four apps. Hikvision's steady move towards complete, pre-matched solutions managed in one app is good news, and the AI features now reaching mainstream products make the system easier to live with day to day.
