Which Dahua technology do you need?
Dahua names its camera and recorder technology rather than just giving a model number. Each guide below explains what the name means, what it is actually for, and links to the models we stock:
WizMind — Dahua's higher camera and recorder tier: the latest sensors, on-device AI and larger recorders for professional installs.
WizSense — the cost-performance AI camera and NVR tier: face detection, perimeter protection and smart search without WizMind pricing.
HDCVI — HD and 4K video over existing coaxial cable, for upgrading an analogue CCTV system camera by camera.
Penta-brid recorders — Dahua's XVR/HCVR recorders that accept HDCVI, HD-TVI, AHD, analogue and IP cameras on the same channel.
Starlight — low-light optimised HDCVI cameras for sites needing usable colour or detail well after dusk.
Smart Dual Light — IP cameras combining infrared and warm-light illumination, switchable between discreet mono night vision and full colour.

We ship nationally and daily from our multi-million pound warehouse in Wolverhampton. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1-2 working days to England, Scotland and Wales. We do not currently ship to Northern Ireland.
What is the difference between Dahua WizSense and WizMind?
WizMind is Dahua's higher camera tier for the latest sensor and AI technology; WizSense is the cost-performance tier below it. Both run on-device AI analytics.
What does HDCVI mean?
High Definition Composite Video Interface — Dahua's technology for HD/4K video over ordinary coaxial cable, for upgrading analogue CCTV without re-cabling.
What is a Penta-brid recorder?
An XVR/HCVR recorder that accepts HDCVI, HD-TVI, AHD, analogue (CVBS) and IP cameras on the same channel, so old and new cameras can share one recorder.
